1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all purchases made through faragewatch.media, operated by FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

FarageWatch Civic Media, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, is an independent publisher of printed civic media. It is not a political party or charity. It does meet the legal criteria to be deemed a non-party campaigner, and will register as such with the Electoral Commission once it reaches the turnover threshold to be required to do so.

3. Nature of Our Products

We sell printed newsletters (“Products”).

Minor variations may occur in colour, layout, paper texture or print quality due to standard printing tolerances.

These Products are supplied for general information only.

We do not control or direct how purchasers choose to use or distribute our printed materials. We do make good-faith efforts with those delivering FarageWatch newsletters door-to-door to maintain a coverage map of which streets each issue has been distributed to, and to advise purchasers accordingly where necessary – but errors and omissions in reports are inevitable, and we do not accept liability for any duplication of newsletter distribution.

4. Ordering and Payment

Payment is taken at checkout.

We accept card payments through Stripe, our payment processor.

Prices are displayed in GBP.

We reserve the right to amend prices at any time before purchase is completed.

If your payment is declined or reversed, no order contract exists.

5. Delivery & Fulfilment

We aim to dispatch orders promptly, but delivery times are estimates only.

Orders are fulfilled either:

  • directly by FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd, or
  • (for large quantities) directly from our print supplier, or
  • via third-party fulfilment partners.

We are not liable for courier delays, missed deliveries, or parcels lost due to incorrect addresses supplied by the buyer.

Risk in the goods transfers to you once the courier confirms delivery or attempted delivery.

7. Use of Products & Leafleting Disclaimer

FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd bears no responsibility whatsoever for any actions taken by customers or third parties using our printed materials.

By purchasing our Products, you agree that:

  • You use and distribute them entirely at your own risk.
  • You are solely responsible for complying with local laws, regulations, and any guidance on leafleting or door-to-door activity.
  • We do not supervise or direct how you deliver materials.

We do not accept any liability for:

  • injuries during delivery
  • trespass or access disputes
  • interactions with members of the public
  • damage to property
  • loss or theft of materials
  • any civil or criminal consequences of distribution
  • any claims made by recipients or neighbours

Any voluntary activity undertaken by you or others is done independently and without our instruction.

We simply sell printed media. How and where you choose to use it is your responsibility alone.

8. No Liability for Volunteer Groups or Local Organisers

Any individuals or groups organising local distribution of our printed materials do so independently.

They are not employees, agents, representatives, or partners of FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd.

We accept no responsibility or liability for:

  • conduct of volunteers,
  • reliability of volunteers,
  • accuracy of information shared in local groups,
  • any activities arranged without direct involvement of FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd.

9. User Accounts & Conduct (BuddyPress & WooCommerce)

Where our website allows account creation, community interaction, or messaging, users must not:

  • harass or abuse others,
  • use the platform for illegal activity,
  • promote hate speech or intimidation,
  • misuse information about volunteers or sponsors, or
  • impersonate FarageWatch staff.

We may suspend or delete accounts at our discretion if misuse is detected.

We are not liable for content posted by users in community areas.

10. Intellectual Property

The FarageWatch masthead, page layouts, typography, and design elements are the intellectual property of FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd unless otherwise stated.

Users may not reproduce or modify our content except:

We aim for accurate, properly sourced civic media. However:

  • Content is provided for general information only.
  • We make no warranties as to completeness or suitability for any particular purpose.
  • We do not provide political, legal, or professional advice.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FarageWatch Civic Media Ltd shall not be liable for:

  • indirect, incidental, or consequential loss,
  • loss of goodwill,
  • property damage,
  • personal injury during distribution of materials.

Our total liability for any claim related to the purchase or use of our Products is limited to the price paid for those Products.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these Terms occasionally. The version posted on this page is the current and binding version.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
